Inflation in India is proving to be the last nail in the coffin for football. While you can get a decent quality cricket bat for Rs 300-400, you’d have to shell out Rs 1000 for a decent football. On top of that one has to get football shoes as well which costs even more.

Cricket as a sport is cheaper and hence it is played by more number of kids in India. It is those kids who grow up and sustain the whole business of cricket by paying for stadium tickets and digital streaming.
