2. Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings has a huge purse going into the auction of the IPL 2024. They got a lot of purse after releasing Ben Stokes. With a balanced squad already, they would be aiming to get better players who could add value to their squad. Cummins is one of them. The Australian pacer is a perfect bowler to bowl in Chennai. With his cutters, slower ones, and change of pace, Cummins would be difficult to play against at Chepauk. CSK would be wary of the fact.
Scoring runs at the venue has always been difficult for the batters. But if you have someone like Cummins in your lineup, the job of the batters will only get more difficult. CSK does not have an overseas pacer who could lead the attack. Cummins might just be the right person for the job. With MS Dhoni getting closer towards his retirement, CSK would also be looking for a potential captain. Cummins fulfils that criterion as well. There is a good chance of Cummins heading south.
