The 15-year-old medium pacer from Andhra Pradesh has been bought by the Gujarat franchise in the 2023 auction for INR 10 lakh. Shakil was also part of the young Indian team who won the inaugural Under-19 Women’s 20-20 World Cup in South Africa. She caught the attention of the former Indian skipper and Gujarat’s coach for consistently hitting the speed of 110 kmph. It will be a big opportunity for the young pacer under the skipper Beth Mooney and other international players to get exposure and knock on the doors of the Indian cricket team.
