Former Indian cricketer criticises organisers for allotting reserve day for IND-PAK Super 4 clash in Asia Cup 2023

The Pakistan Cricket Board recently assigned A reserve day to the game between India and Pakistan on 11 September. India and Pakistan will meet on 10th September in Colombo for the Super Four game of the Asia Cup 2023. The match at Kandy between the archrivals was abandoned due to heavy rains on 2 September after the first innings, leading to the game ending as a draw. The Pakistan bowlers dismissed India’s batting order for 266 runs at the end of 48.5 overs.

Pakistan has already played their first game of the Super 4s stage against Bangladesh and won it effortlessly. If the game on 10th September also witnesses. Heavy rain, then the first attempt of the match officials will be to finish the game by reducing the number of overs accordingly but if there is no chance of saving the game on 10th, then the game will be shifted to the reserve day on 11 September.

PCB criticised for being partial

Many head coaches of different countries participating in the Asia Cup have criticised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for being partial and making the India vs. Pakistan game the only match to have a reserve day, even though it is not a decider match (final game). Meanwhile, PCB has asked the fans to save the tickets to use the same on the reserve day in case it comes to use as the game on the 10th is cancelled or shifted to the next day.

Recently, Rohit Sharma called India and Pakistan to not be. The only team is in the Asia Cup While all the other teams have a good chance of winning and our great participants. This move of the Pakistan Cricket Board has been highly criticized and is being considered a hypocritical move of being partial.

Veteran Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad has criticised PCB for their move and said,“If true this is absolute shamelessness this. The organisers have made a mockery and it is unethical to have a tournament with rules being different for the other two teams. In the name of justice, will only be fair if it is abandoned the first day, may it rain harder on the second day and these malicious plans not succeed.”
