‘Give him some space’ – Wasim Akram’s request for this Pakistan player

Pakistan started the three-match ODI series against the West Indies with a win. They defeated them by five wickets in the first one-dayer. Pakistan Skipper Babar Azam was suprerb as he smashed a knock of 103 runs from 107 balls to chase down the target of 306. Mohammad Rizwan (59 off 61 balls) and Imam-ul-Haq (65 off 71 balls) also supported him, while Khushdil Shah sealed the deal with quickfire unbeaten 41 runs off 23 balls.

However, Haris Rauf was the star man from Pakistan’s bowling line-up as he picked up four crucial wickets. However, Hasan Ali failed to contribute once again with the ball as he went wicketless in his 10 overs, and got hit for 68 runs. After such a performance, fans went on to severely criticize him through their social media platforms. Nevertheless, Pakistan legend Wasim Akram issued a video on his official Twitter account with an urge to fans to back him despite his poor performances.

He is our kid. If we don’t give him confidence, who will?” – Wasim Akram

In his video, a former Pakistan pacer said that Hasan Ali is their kid and they need to support him. He said: “I have one request. Please stop criticizing Hasan Ali. Please. He is our kid. If we don’t give him confidence, who will?”

Here is the video shared by Wasim Akram on his account:

He also requested fans to give him some space and also shared his full support for Hasan by asking him not to worry. “He starts trending on Twitter even before he could bowl the second over of his spell. People keep asking ‘why he is playing?’ Even our journalists are criticizing him. Please give him some space. He has produced brilliant performances for Lancashire. The people there are praising him. “Hasan, don’t worry about these guys. We all are behind you. As an ex-cricketer and an ex-captain and I think the whole country is behind you. So, my full support is with Hasan,” Akram concluded.

Hasan had a good outing with his County side, i.e. Lancashire, where he picked up 25 wickets. He will be in action again as Pakistan are gearing up to face West Indies for the second ODI match on 10 June 2022.
