The whole cricketing world knows that former English skipper Kevin Pietersen was almost dismissed by the legendary Indian skipper Ms Dhoni in 2011, but not many remember that Pietersen had dismissed Dhoni for his second wicket in a Test match at The Oval in 2007.

When the former England player brought it up during the ongoing India vs England Test series, former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan was quick to reply, reminding him of the number of times Indian star Yuvraj Singh dismissed him.

Here’s the conversation between Pietersen and Zaheer

You know who else I’ve got in my pocket here? The great Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Right there, there he is next to Kamran Akmal,” Kevin Pietersen said during the post-match show.

You know I met Yuvraj Singh recently and he was talking about Kevin Pietersen being there”, former Indian Pacer Zaheer Khan responded.

Yeah, I knew it. I knew you were going to say that,” Pietersen replied with a cheeky smile on his face.

Zaheer Khan was referring to how many times Yuvraj Singh dismissed Pietersen. Yuvraj dismissed him five times in ODIs, more than any other bowler in the world.

Yuvraj got me a few times (with a laugh)”, Kevin Pietersen further added. “I remember him (KP) giving him (Yuvraj) a special nickname as well”, Zaheer Khan replied with a smile.

Yeah, and he used it as his e-mail ID too for a while. We’ve had some great battles, some beautiful battles on the field and that’s what happens when you play for such a long time. The good thing is you can speak about it and have fun with it. It’s the same thing a guy like Ashwin would do with Ben Stokes when their careers are finished. They will be having a laugh, having a joke like this,” Petersen said, ending the conversation.

Pietersen was on fire with his commentary during the first two Tests in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam respectively, but now that he has flown back to England, the whole cricketing fraternity is eagerly waiting to see who replaces the former English skipper in the broadcast team.
