Harmanpreet Kaur’s Heartwarming Gesture After The Pakistan Clash In The CWG 2022
On 31 July 2022, The Indian women’s team met with Pakistan at Edgbaston, Birmingham in the Commonwealth Games 2022. After losing the first match against Australia on 29 July 2022, India managed to come up victorious against their arch-rivals. India thrashed Pakistan by eight wickets in rain threatened affair. The match got reduced to 18 overs due to rain.
India managed to chase down the target of 100 runs easily in just 11.4 overs. However, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur came up with a heartwarming gesture after the match. That image got viral and it got surfaced quickly over the internet. This gesture also won the hearts of fans from both countries.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s team won their first ever match in Commonwealth Games 2022
Speaking of that gesture, Harmanpreet Kaur and her girls were seen in a joyful mood after winning the match. During that, Kaur was seen gifting away her bat to a Pakistani player. Both India and Pakistan team members lauded Harmanpreet’s gesture.
Now speaking about the match, Both the teams were coming off a defeat from their respective opening games in this mega event. Hence, the stage was set for a good match between these two arch-rivals. However, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. But, they experienced a batting collapse in their innings. Despite losing two wickets for 50 runs, they got bundled out for 99 runs only.
In reply, Indian openers came up with a motive to end that match in a hurry. Smriti Mandhana looked in excellent touch as she started to play some big shots from the start of her innings. India scored 52 runs for no loss in just five overs. In the end, she remained unbeaten by scoring 63 runs off 42 balls. This huge win over Pakistan ensured that India still has a chance to qualify for the semi-finals in this event. The Indian women’s Team will be in action again on 3 August 2022 against Barbados women.
