The star Indian bowler for Chennai Super Kings, Deepak Chahar, revealed a previously unreported story regarding legendary captain MS Dhoni from IPL 2021. The famous pacer stated that he had intended to pop the question to Jaya, his better half, before the IPL final in 2021, but Dhoni had told him to do it before the playoffs so he could stay focused on the game.

In the most recent episode of Breakfast with Champions, Deepak Chahar talked with Gaurav Kapur and provided insight into the untold tale. After an injury scare threatened to end his IPL 2023 season, the Indian pacer has recovered his bowling form just in time for the four-time champions.

According to reports, MS Dhoni revised Deepak Chahar’s plans to pop the question after the IPL playoffs in 2021. Deepak was then urged by MS Dhoni to get engaged before the playoffs, possibly even during the match against Delhi. However, Deepak Chahar failed to do so in the Delhi game, and once more, Dhoni changed his mind about popping the question during the match against Punjab Kings.

The couple got married on June 1, 2021, in Agra

Even though CSK lost, Chahar made the decision to propose to Jara Bhardwaj after the game. The video of him getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him had gone viral immediately. Deepak has also told his family about the upcoming nuptials, which the couple decided after Chahar’s return from the UAE.

On June 1, 2022, Chahar finally, wed his long-time lover Jaya Bhardwaj in a lavish wedding ceremony in Agra. At the JP Palace Hotel in Agra, the couple were married according to Hindu tradition in the presence of their family and close friends. Top Indian cricket players, including Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, attended the newlyweds’ reception at the ITC Maurya in Delhi. Prior to the national team assembling for the next T20I series against South Africa, several other Indian international and domestic cricketers were also a part of the wedding celebrations.
