The exclusion of Yuzvendra Chahal from white-ball cricket is not new. Since 2022, the selection committee has been ignoring him without any specific reason or clarification. Moreover, this has always been a topic of debate among former players and cricket experts. This time former India spinner, Harbhajan Singh has finally questioned the selectors for not considering Chahal in white ball cricket. He, including millions of others, is not happy with the decision taken by selectors.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Harbhajan said, “He is being ignored; I don’t know why. I don’t think he knows as well. But even today, I don’t think there is a better leg-spinner in the country. And I don’t think there is a braver spinner than him. He has a very sharp mind.”
Chahal without any doubt is India’s one of the best spinners. His exclusion from the team not only sparks controversies but also brings down the player’s morale. Each time Chahal has been added to the team, he has shown the selectors why he should be there in the team. Even then, the selectors find a way to exclude him from the team. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see India’s T20 World Cup squad.

In between this, Harbhajan Singh expresses his views on the pitch and expects the team to take Ravindra Jadeja as the second spinner.
“Pitches will be pretty similar, like India. Spinners will play a big role. I’ve been to the West Indies on many occasions, and I’ve seen there’s always something for the spinners. Hence, it is important to pick the right attack. You cannot look past the conditions because they will be similar to the subcontinent. You have to make the team keeping in mind the conditions. You need to have at least three spinners in your squad,” said Harbhajan in Hindustan Times.
