Heather Knight Comes Up With An Allegation Of Lying On Deepti Sharma Regarding Her Recent Comments
On 24 September 2022, Jhulan Goswami played her final match for India at the Lord’s against England Women. But, it became more special as India Women clean swept them on their home soil in that three-match ODI series. But, the dismissal of Charlotte Dean became the talk of the town as Deepti Sharma ran out her at the non-striker end.
It was the last wicket of that game and thus, India won that match by 16 runs. After that, many cricketers criticized her. In response to those, Deepti Sharma said that they already warned the batter. But, still, she was doing the same and whatever they did, it was completely under the rules or guidelines. Now, in reply to that, England Women skipper Heather Knight accused Deepti Sharma of lying about the ‘given warnings’.
Here are the shared tweets:
1/2 The game is over, Charlie was dismissed legitimately. India were deserved winners of the match and the series. But no warnings were given. They don’t need to be given, so it hasn’t made the dismissal any less legitimate… https://t.co/TOTdJ3HgJe

2/2 But if they’re comfortable with the decision to affect the run out, India shouldn’t feel the need to justify it by lying about warnings 🤷🏼♀️ https://t.co/TOTdJ3HgJe

“India shouldn’t feel the need to justify it by lying about warnings” – Heather Knight on Twitter
Speaking about her tweets, she wrote: “The game is over, Charlie was dismissed legitimately. India were deserved winners of the match and the series. But no warnings were given. They don’t need to be given, so it hasn’t made the dismissal any less legitimate.”
Knight also added: “But if they’re comfortable with the decision to affect the run-out, India shouldn’t feel the need to justify it by lying about warnings.” Speaking about that incident, Deepti Sharma said that they gave warnings to the batter. They even told the umpire about the same.
“Nothing to say. It was a plan of ours. We already warned her as we saw her often leaving the crease. So, we just did what is under the rules and guidelines. See. every team wants to win only. We wanted to give her (Jhulu di) a good farewell by winning the match. So, as a team, we gave our full effort to win that match. We already warned her and told umpires about it. Still, she was doing that same, and thus, there was nothing to do from our side.” Deepti Sharma concluded.
