‘Hope he recovers and bounce back’ – Fans pour in wishes for Rishabh Pant as he posts Instagram story about ‘breathing fresh fire’
Since December 30 last year, India cricketer Rishabh Pant has been battling with injuries due to a near-fatal car accident. On that day, he sustained multiple injuries and escaped death thanks to a bus driver and the people who took him to the hospital. A few hours after this, the doctors said that Pant is out of danger but will take a few months to recover fully.
In the last month or so, he has been in the hospital bed and didn’t move since he was been operated on. However, a little more than a month after the incident, the left-hander stepped out and had a feeling of fresh air. In this latest Instagram, the former India U19 player wrote “Never knew just able to sit out and breathe fresh air feels so blessed.”

India will miss Rishabh Pant in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy: Ian Chappell
Meanwhile, Pant’s injury has somehow derailed the plan for India ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He would have been the first-choice keeper and a batter who could change the complexion of the game. Not to forget, the Delhi player has five Test hundreds to his name with four of them coming in SENA countries. Also, he has the highest batting average against Australia (62.40).
In the seven Tests played by the Uttarakhand-born player against the Kangaroos, he has 624 runs to his name. Meanwhile, former Australia player, Ian Chappell has said that the home team, India will massively miss Pant. He added that the Aussies will be happy given that he is not playing the series.
“India are really going to really miss Rishabh Pant. The Australians will be happy. He is a counter-attacker, the guy who keep you awake are guys who score quickly and changes game in one session. Pant was one such player,” Ian Chappell said.
