Australia ended the three-match ODI series with a win against India. Pat Cummins saw his side score 352/7 from their 50 overs. The Australian bowlers then found their rhythm to bowl their team to a win.

The star with the ball for the visitors was Glenn Maxwell who picked 4/40 from his ten overs. It was a commanding performance just before the start of the 2023 ODI World Cup 2023. India and Australia face each other on 8th October in Chennai.

Pat Cummins won the toss for his side and elected to bat first. It was a hot day at Rajkot. Both teams made a lot of changes to the team. Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell were finally back in the Australian colors.

Australia ended the series on a high with a win

David Warner continued his good form with the bat as he made full use of the batting-friendly conditions. The left-handed batter scored his third successive fifty of the ODI series. Warner along with Mitchell Marsh added 78 runs for the opening wicket. Prasidh Krishna got the first wicket of the day when he dismissed Warner for 56. Mitchell Marsh took over as he sent the Indian fielders on a leather hunt. Marsh was looking good when he was out for 96 falling to Kuldeep Yadav.

Steve Smith scored 74 runs from just 61 balls and also went past 5000 runs in ODI cricket. Mohammad Siraj got the big wicket of the Australian vice-captain. Marnus Labuschagne batted well to score 72 runs off 58 balls with 9 hits to the fence. For the Indian team, Bumrah led the bowling with 3/81 while Kuldeep Yadav picked two wickets. Chasing 353 to win, Rohit Sharma came out with Washington Sundar. The India skipper was content to pull anything short as he sent the ball sailing across the stadium. Two sixes were lofted cover drives which sailed into the stand for six.

Glenn Maxwell got the first wicket when he dismissed Sundar for 17. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli then added 70 runs for the 2nd wicket. Indian skipper looked good for a ton but it was all over. Glenn Maxwell got Rohit Sharma caught and bowled for 81. The Australian struck again to dismiss Virat Kohli for 56. Once Virat Kohli it was all over for the Indian team.

Australia picked wickets at regular intervals despite a small fightback from KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. The Indian wicket-keeper was out for 28, while Iyer was out for 49. Australia went on to win the game and set the stage for the 2023 ODI World Cup 2023.
