Hyderabad to miss Star Batter for the remaining of Indian T20 League 2022

In their last match against Mumbai in the Indian T20 League 2022, Hyderabad pulled off a thrilling victory by just three runs. With the win, Hyderabad is still in contention to make it to the playoffs of the tournament. To book their berth in the top four Hyderabad needs to win their last match against Punjab by a big margin and then wait for the results of the other matches to go their way.
But what comes in a piece of the latest news, is Hyderabad will be missing the services of their commander in chief, Kane Williamson for the last of their league matches and also the playoffs if they make it to the stage. The Star Kiwi batter will be traveling back to New Zealand for the birth of his child. The franchise confirmed the development via their official social media handles. Their Tweet on the development read – “Our skipper Kane Williamson is flying back to New Zealand, to usher in the latest addition to his family. Speaking of Williamson’s performance in the Indian T20 League 2022, he has been having a terrible time with the bat in hand. He has looked completely out of touch and lacking in confidence. His numbers for the tournament reflect how dismal he has been this year. In the 13 matches, he has played in the tournament he has scored 216 runs at an average of 19.64 and a strike rate of 93.51. Williamson’s lackluster performance at the top of the order has been one of the main reasons for Hyderabad’s batting woes this season.
On the other hand, Williamson’s off form in batting has translated into his captaincy. He has looked confused and clueless on the field as the leader of the team.
