‘I don’t really know much about their grounds’ – Star England batter on Bazball in Indian conditions

England defeated Australia in the fifth and final Test match of Ashes 2023. The hosts completed a brilliant comeback to level the series 2-2 after being down 0-2. Chris Woakes was awarded the Player of the Match for his brilliant performance in the match. He was also awarded the Player of the Tournament for his brilliant all-round performance along with star Australia bowler, Mitchell Starc. After the Ashes series, England will lock horns with India to demonstrate their attacking approach which is known as Bazball.

England will tour India for a five-match Test series. The first Test will be played at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium from January 25-29. The second match of the series will be played at Visakhapatnam from February 2-6, the third match will be played at Rajkot from February 15-19 and the last match of the series will be played at Dharamshala from March 7-11.

I knew I had some good knocks in me: Zak Crawly

“I don’t really know much about their grounds. Sometimes in India it seams and swings a bit – and they’ve got unbelievable seamers – so hopefully there are a couple of pitches there that are like that as well, that will suit us a bit more. “But if it’s spinning, I feel like we play spin really well as well. We’ll just have to adapt, see what we get. But they are pretty unknown grounds – I don’t know if they’re going to be raggers like Ahmedabad and Chennai, where we were last time,” Zak Crawley was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

Crawly was the highest run-scorer in the 2023 edition of the Ashes. He scored 480 runs in the series. His score was the highest by any England opener.in a home series of Ashes since Mike Atherton in 1993.  “I’m pleased with that stat. That’s a good one. I’ve always believed in myself, so I knew I had some good knocks in me – but I’d say it was unlikely,” Crawly asserted.
