“I would say he is a problem for England” – Michael Vaughan believes India’s star young batter would be a big threat for England
Former England captain Michael Vaughan has lauded Yashasvi Jaiswal for his performance and stated that he is going to be a big problem for England ahead of the ongoing Test series. Yashasvi Jaiswal started his Test career with a bang as he scored a century on his Test debut against West Indies in Windsor Park Stadium, Dominica.
In the ongoing Test series between India and England, Jaiswal’s performance with the bat is absolutely brilliant. In the second Test match against England, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his first double hundred and also became the third youngest Indian batter to score a Test double hundred for India. he scored 209 runs from 290 balls which included 19 fours and 7 sixes. India won the Test match by 106 runs.
Jaiswal’s knock played an important role as India set a big total especially when no other batter could score a half-century in the first innings. As wickets started to fall from another end Jaiswal stood up with discipline and calm composure which was instrumental to reaching this achievement.

In the first Test match, Jaiswal scored 80 runs before getting out to Joe Root. After the two matches, Yashasvi Jaiswal is the highest run-scorer in the Test series. Till now he has scored 321 runs with an average of 80.25. Former Indian batter Sunil Gavaskar also praised Jaiswal and called him a quick learner after his performance.
Michael Vaughan is the latest member to hail the opener. In an interview with the Club Prairie Fire podcast, believes that Jaiswal will be a big problem for the England team in the series. Vaughan also praised Jaiswal as unbelievable while recalling his chats with him during the IPL last year.
“I would say he is a problem for England. He is an issue. He is an unbelievable player. I met him in Mumbai and he got a hundred the next day in the IPL. “Now he has gone on to score a double-hundred against the best team in the world,” said Vaughan.
