India and Pakistan Cricket Boards are having a scuffle over the venue of the Asia Cup 2023 in the last few months. Last year, Indian Cricket Board secretary and ACC president Jay Shah announced that the tournament will be moved out of Pakistan. He cited the Indian government not permitting its national side to travel to Pakistan. In reply, the PCB has threatened to boycott the ODI World Cup 2023 in India.

However, a change of leadership in the PCB has brought a different stance to the matter. They have asked to have a discussion over the matter although it was recently reported that they are adamant to organize the tournament in Pakistan. On the other hand, former Pakistan skipper Javed Miandad had said ‘India can go to hell if they don’t want to come to Pakistan’.

Meanwhile, former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has very different on the matter compared to most ex-cricketers in Pakistan. He says that if the continental tournament is moved to the UAE. The 43-year-old mentioned that the India-Pakistan game happens only in World Championships and it can be good to promote cricket in the UAE.

“It’s good for cricket. And for cricket promotion. India-Pakistan games only happen in World tournaments. If Asia Cup has been shifted to Dubai, then it’s best option. It’s good for cricket and cricketers,” Razzaq told Geo News.

Both boards must sit together and resolve their issues: Abdul Razzaq

2009 20-20 World Cup winner added that both India and Pakistan Cricket boards must resolve their issues. He feels that the scuffle between the two have been going on for a long time.

‘It doesn’t happen like this. This has been on for years. If the two boards sit across table and chat, it would be great. Both boards should solve this issue,’ Razzaq added.
