IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 Super Four clash to have reserve day
A reserve day has been allotted to the highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan on 11 September. India and Pakistan will lock horns once again on 10th September at Colombo, Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup, 2023, super four stage. India and Pakistan previously met on two September 2023 for the group stage of Asia Cup as they both were a part of a group A along with Nepal.
The archrivals’ first encounter was washed away due to heavy rains at the Pallakele international cricket stadium, Kandy, Sri Lanka on 2 September. The game was abandoned after the first innings due to a constant heavy downpour, which led to the game being tied and both the teams were awarded one point age. The skilled Pakistan bowlers dismissed India’s batting order for 266 runs at the end of 48.5 overs.
Currently, the Pakistan cricket team has already played their first game of super four stage against Bangladesh and sealed an easy victory to move up on the points table. While India is expected to play their first match of the super forces against Pakistan.
What happens on reserve day?
The marquee clash will be expected on 10th September and if there is constant heavy rain. The first attempt will be to conclude the clash by reducing the number of overs in the game for both the innings. If there is no chance of saving the game on the same day, then the game will be shifted to the reserve day on 11 September.
The Pakistan cricket board has advised the fans to save their tickets of the match so that they can use the same on the reserve day if the game gets washed away or abandoned. The Indian versus Pakistan clash will be the only match to have a reserve day in the Asia Cup and not even the final game as of now.
