 India beat Bangladesh in Asian Games 2022 semi-finals to qualify for finals

India and Bangladesh recently encountered each other in the semi-final one match of the 19th edition of the Asian Games 2023 on 6 October, Friday in Hangzhou, China. India won the toss and chose to bowl first, with the aim to dismiss the Bangladesh batting order within a few runs. 

Bangladesh’s mid-order batsmen, Jaker Ali scored the highest the number of runs for the team as he saved the collapsing top order of Bangladesh team along with the opening batsman, Parvez Hossain Emon scored the second highest runs for the team. The duo scored 24 and 23 runs off 29 and 32 deliveries with a strike rate of 82.76 and 71.88, respectively.

The middle-order batsman Rakibul Hasan also scored came down the order to hit three boundaries as he scored 14 off 6 deliveries and hit 2 fours and 1 six. The three batsmen could not take Bangladesh to a high score, and the team felt extremely short of runs. Bangladesh batting lineup collectively  scored 96-9. India’s young debutant, Sai Kishore took a three wicket haul against Bangladesh.

India to face Pakistan in Asian Games 2023 Finals? 

Bangladesh miserably failed to defend the low target of 97 runs in 20 overs and India won the game. The team’s top order batsmen Ruturaj Gaikwad and Tilak Varma led the team towards the victory and Tilak the highest scorer for the team by scoring 40 and 55 runs off 26 deliveries each respectively. India sealed an easy victory against Bangladesh by 9 wickets. 

After beating Bangladesh, the Indian cricket team has now qualified for the final match of the Asian games, 2023 men’s cricket event. A second qualifier match in the semifinals is being played between Pakistan and Afghanistan and the winner of the match will face India in the final game which will be held on 7 October for the competition of the gold medal.  The loser  of the second semi-final match will face Bangladesh for the third position medal match.
