Important medical and fitness reports on five top players who are currently receiving treatment at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru were released by the Indian Cricket Board on Friday, July 21. The players include wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna, and right-hand batter, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. With India hosting the upcoming edition of the World Cup later this year, all five of these players are a crucial part of the Indian cricket team.

“Mr. Jasprit Bumrah and Mr. Prasidh Krishna: The two fast bowlers are in the final stages of their rehab and are bowling with full intensity in the nets. The duo will now play some practice games, which the NCA will organize. The Indian Cricket Board Medical Team is pleased with their progress and will make a final decision after assessing them following the practice games,” the Indian Cricket Board said in a release.

“Mr. KL Rahul and Mr. Shreyas Iyer: They have resumed batting in the nets and are currently undergoing strength and fitness drills. The Indian Cricket Board Medical Team is satisfied with their progress and will increase their intensity in terms of both skills and strength and conditioning in the coming days,” the Indian Cricket Board asserted in a release.

The Indian Cricket Board also opined that Rishabh Pant “Mr. Rishabh Pant: He has made significant progress in his rehabilitation and has commenced batting as well as keeping in the nets. He is currently following a fitness programme designed for him which includes strength, flexibility, and running,” Indian Cricket Board stated in a release.

The much-awaited ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to kick off in the month of October at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, where the two finals from last year, England and New Zealand lock horns against each other. The venues for the knockout games, semi-final and final are yet to be announced. The final is set to be hosted by Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

India will play the first match of the mega event against Australia on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram, in Chennai. They will lock horns with arch-rivals, Pakistan on October 15, at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad. Due to the match between India and Pakistan on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, hotels in Ahmedabad are asking about Rs 50,000 per night due to high demand.
