West Indies and India lock horns in the second and final Test match of the series at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad. At the end of Day 2, the game is well poised as West Indies scored 86 runs for the loss of one wicket after bowling out India for a strong total of 438. Windies skipper Kraig Braithwaite is unbeaten on 37 runs off 128 balls with three fours, and Kirk McKenzie is on 14 runs from 25 balls with one four and six each.

A beautiful moment took place after the completion of the second day at the Port of Spain as West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Joshua Da Silva’s mother met with the former India skipper, Virat Kohli. She also watched the 34-year-old’s batting where Kohli went on to score a hundred. Earlier on day one, Silva told Kohli that his mother would be coming to watch his batting. “My mom called me and told me she’s coming to watch the match for Virat Kohli, I couldn’t believe it,” Joshua was quoted as saying on the stump mic.

I am never going to leave that opportunity: Virat Kohli

Talking about the match, the top scorer for India was Kohli who went on to score his 76th hundred in international cricket. He scored 121 runs off 206 balls which included 11 fours in his innings. Half-centuries from Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin each ensured that India went over the 400-run mark.

“For me converting 1 into 2 is easy runs and I am never going to leave that opportunity. I’m not someone who will wait for a period where I score a bunch of boundaries off 10 balls. If I am scoring six boundaries, I am already batting on 90 which keeps me off the pressure. My fitness helps me switch between formats easily. I feel I can bat 300 balls, bat at a good strike rate and keep my intensity high,” Kohli was quoted as saying at the end of Day 2’s play.
