Asia Cup is going to start on 27 August 2022. However, India is going to kick off their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on 28 August 2022. After their last match in the T20 World Cup 2021, it will be the first time that these two Asian Giants will face off. India is currently busy playing the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe.

On the other hand, Pakistan is currently playing in the Netherlands in a three-match ODI series. Speaking of this upcoming Asia Cup, India dealt with a major blow earlier this week. India will miss the services of their prime fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah due to his back injury. All senior players like Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli will be in action in this mega event. 

Shaheen Afridi is going to miss the upcoming Asia Cup for Pakistan 

Pakistan also announced a strong squad with quality players in every department. However, this tournament is going to be played in the 20-20 format.
