Chennai will square off against Delhi in the 55th match of the Indian T20 League 2022. The match will be hosted at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. While Chennai is out of the race for the title, Delhi will be looking to win the match and stay in contention.

Team News:

Chennai: Chennai lost their last match against Bangalore by 13 runs. With that, they were officially eliminated from the race to reach the top four. But they will still be looking to upset the teams who are still in the run.

Probable XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway (O), Moeen Ali (O), Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (C)(WK), Ravindra Jadeja, Dwaine Pretorius (O), Simarjeet Singh, Mukesh Choudhary, Maheesh Theekshana (O).

Key Players:

Maheesh Theekshana: In the seven matches he has played so far in ITL 2022, Theekshana has picked up 11 wickets. He has developed himself into an important part of Chennai’s bowling.

Dwaine Pretorius: Pretorius is doing a great job with the ball in hand in the death overs for Chennai. The Men in Yellow will hope that his decent form continues.

Devon Conway: Since his return to the playing eleven, Conway has scored two half-centuries in two matches. He will be a very important piece in Chennai’s batting puzzle.

Delhi: Delhi won their last match against Hyderabad by 21 runs. Their batting looked formidable and they will look to deliver one more top-drawer performance in their next match.

Probable XI: Prithvi Shaw, David Warner (O), Mitchell Marsh (O), Rishabh Pant (C)(WK), Rovman Powell (O), Lalit Yadav, Ripal Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Anrich Nortje (O).

Key Players:

David Warner: Warner is scoring at a great rate and doing it consistently. Delhi will look forward to Warner giving them some more solid starts.

Rovman Powell: In their last match against Hyderabad, Powell demonstrated his hitting capabilities. The team will hope he continues with his form.

Khaleel Ahmed: Khaleel Ahmed is playing a great role in the death overs with the bowl in hand.

Pitch Report: The pitch at the DY Patil has been very sporty so far in the tournament. The pitch stays true and assists everybody throughout the 40 overs of a match. Thus, a close fight between the bat and the ball.

Head-to-Head: Chennai has had the upper hand over Delhi, historically in the tournament. Chennai has won 16 of the 26 games they have played against Delhi, while Delhi has won 10 of these matches.
