‘Indians want to…’ – Shahid Afridi makes big statement about Pakistan touring India
Since Jay Shah expressed his unwillingness to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the next year’s Asia Cup, India and Pakistan cricket boards are having a go at each. In reply to Shah’s statement, PCB chairperson, Ramiz Raja had threatened that his national side will pull out of the next year’s ODI World Cup. At this point, it is unclear whether India and Pakistan will travel to each other’s nations.
Meanwhile. former Pakistan skipper, Shahid Afridi has claimed that Indian fans want to see Pakistan play in India. Notably, this is a big statement in the wake of Indian fans supporting the idea of India not playing in Pakistan due to tense political relations.
“The relations between Pakistan and India have always improved due to cricket. Indians want to see Pakistan play cricket in India.”
Pakistan will pull out of Asia Cup if it’s moved out of Pakistan: Ramiz Raja
Meanwhile, there is a possibility that apart from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are also likely to pull out if the tournament is played in Pakistan. In response, Pakistan is looking to pull out of the tournament if it is moved out of its country. Meanwhile, PCB chief Ramiz Raja said that the board earned the hosting rights and isn’t begging for it. Raja confirmed that Pakistan might not play the tournament outside of Pakistan.
“It’s not as if we don’t have hosting rights and we’re pleading to host it,” he had said on the sidelines of the Pakistan-England Test in Rawalpindi. “We won the rights fair and square. If India doesn’t come, they won’t come. If the Asia Cup gets taken away from Pakistan, maybe we’re the ones that pull out.”
