India’s star batter, KL Rahul might not participate in the upcoming fifth rescheduled Test against England, scheduled to be held next month. KL Rahul was part of India’s squad for the rescheduled Test against England.

He was also appointed as the captain of the ongoing T20 series against South Africa. However, ahead of the first T2o match in Delhi, the Lucknow skipper suffered a groin injury. As a result, he was ruled out of the entire series.

The Indian batter is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and as of now, it is unclear as to how long will the Karnataka cricketer be out of on-field action.

“It is learnt that diagnosis of his complaint is not complete yet. Sources have indicated that his participation in the England series is doubtful but could not clarify if he will have to skip the white ball games as well.” Cricbuzz stated in its report.

Players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested for the ongoing T20 series against South Africa. They will be flying to England to participate in all-format series.

As per reports, India will fly to England in two separate batches. The first batch is expected to leave on Friday (16th June), while second group of players, which include the likes of Pant, Iyer and Rahul Dravid, will fly to England on 20th June 2022.

India will begin the tour with re-scheduled Test match, slated to be played from 1st to 5th July 2022. Thereafter, Rohit Sharma and Co. 3T20 internationals and 3 ODIs. The tour will conclude on 17th July 2022, Sunday.
