On Wednesday (15 June 2022), a 17-member squad for the upcoming two-match T20I series against Ireland was named. India is currently busy hosting South Africa in a five-match T20I series at home. Hardik Pandya was named as the captain for the Ireland series while Bhuvneshwar Kumar was appointed as the vice-captain.
Players like Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer will not be available as both of them will be in England for the Test tour. Suryakumar Yadav made a comeback while Rahul Tripathi earned a maiden call-up to the National side after his impressive outing in the Indian T20 League 2022.
India is scheduled to play this two-match series in Ireland starting on 26 June 2022. However, there are some names who will be considered unlucky for not getting into the squad.

Prithvi Shaw will be disappointed by not getting a call-up to the National set-up for this T20I series against Ireland. As an explosive opener, he had a good season for his Delhi franchise as he scored 283 runs in 10 innings at a strike rate of 152.9.
He scored at an explosive pace in the powerplay overs and that became instrumental for his franchise to set up a good score in matches. He could be a good option along with Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad for the opener situation. However, he is currently busy playing for his state, Mumbai in the Ranji Semi-final.
