‘Is tarah ke question naa karein to behtar hai’ – Umar Akmal shuts down journalist asking him about making TikTok videos
Former Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal lashed out at a reporter ahead of the ongoing Pakistan Super League. The right-hander has been picked by the 2019 winners, Quetta Gladiators. Ahead of the tournament, he was speaking to the reporters. While the others were talking about his game and preparations for the tournament, one reporter decided to bring up personal stuff.
Apparently, the journalist asked about being busy making TikTok videos while questioning Akmal’s fitness. In reply, the former Pakistan player urged the reporter not to dwell on his personal life and added that he has worked hard on his fitness.
“Fitness is in front of you. I am not the only one. If you ask other players about it, they will also answer it in the same way,” he said.
“I have worked very hard on my fitness and I am feeling super fit,” he added.

Umar Akmal is lucky to be picked by Quetta Gladiators: Shahid Afridi
Meanwhile, former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has maintained that Akmal is luck to be picked by the Gladiators. The 2009 20-20 World Cup winner feels that Akmal’s fitness has been an issue in the last few years
“Umar Akmal should thank Quetta Gladiators because other franchises were not interested in picking him in PSL. Umar Akmal has problem of fitness since quite a long. I like him as a batter, but Umar Akmal still has to work upon his fitness a lot,” Afridi was quoted as saying by cricketpakistan.com.pk.
The ongoing season eight of the PSL has gotten a great start. The last year’s finalists, Multan Sultans, and Lahore Qalandars locked horns. The defending champions, Lahore won the game by a run to kick off the tournament. Talking about Quetta, they will play against the Sultans on February 15. Before this, the season two winners, Peshawar Zalmi will take on 2020 winners, Karachi Kings.
