‘Iska software update karna padega’ – Fans react as Erling Haaland misses penalty against Bayern Munich in UEFA Champions League
Manchester City star striker Erling Haaland missed a penalty against Bayern Munich during their UEFA Champions League match, and fans didn’t hold back from trolling him on Twitter. In the first half of their match at the Allianz Arena, the Norwegian went up to take a penalty kick with a chance to end the tie, but Haaland shockingly missed it by blazing it over the bar.
The 22-year-old had a chance to score City’s fourth goal in the match but missed it. City defeated the Bavarians 3-0 at the Etihad in the first leg last week. Haaland was anticipated to take advantage of the opportunity because of his lethal finishing ability, but his jitters caused him to miss his spot-kick into the stands.
The former Borussia Dortmund star was not well received by the public, and many used Twitter to make fun of him. On the other hand, Bayern Munich had opportunities in the first half, but some wastefulness kept them from taking advantage as the score stands at 0-0 at the break.
Haaland will learn how to do it: Pep Guardiola
Leroy Sane may have had Bayern’s greatest opportunity when he was set free by an excellent through pass and faced off against Ederson, but he missed the target with his attempt. Sane had the ball in the penalty area as the Bavarians had another respectable opportunity in the first half. Leon Goretzka was given an opportunity by him, but he missed the goal with his shot.
Bayern has only 45 minutes left to save the match, but they must be more efficient with their opportunities because they need to score three times or more to force overtime. Meanwhile, City’s manager Pep Guardiola said that Haaland is just 22 right now and will improve in future. “That is everyone can do that in this situation, he’ll learn how to do it. He’s 22 years old – for him he’s an incredible machine, he wanted it but he’ll learn in the future, next time he’ll be more secure in the future.” said Guardiola.
