Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix has admitted that he dreams of playing for FC Barcelona. Felix is expected to be on the move this summer, after the end of his six-month loan from Chelsea. He has told Fabrizio Romano that it would be his ‘dream’ to play at the Camp Nou. It is no secret that Barça president Joan Laporta is a fan of the forwards, and the club has already attempted to recruit him.

Following Felix’s comments yesterday, speculations surfaced saying that Barcelona was already looking for methods to recruit the 23-year-old during the current transfer window. It is also stated that the deal would fit within the La Liga champions’ economic realities and that things may move quickly over the next week or so. Joao Felix was on the verge of joining Barcelona during the 2022 winter transfer window. The two teams had reached an agreement on a shared-ownership arrangement until Los Rojiblancos pulled out of the contract.

The former Chelsea player “I’d love to play for Barça.” “Barcelona has always been my first choice and I’d love to join Barça. It was always my dream since I was a kid. If it happens, it will be a dream come true for me.”  The Portuguese forward has not been on good terms with Atletico Madrid’s coach Diego Simone and was made to train with their youth team recently.

At the same time, the message coming through from the Wanda Metropolitano is, “The player’s agent knows perfectly the conditions that must be met for Joao to be able to leave the club. From then on we have nothing to comment on this matter.”

It remains to be seen if Barcelona are open to having the 23-year-old on their team. It has been claimed that a fee of £10 million could be enough to loan Felix for the upcoming season. He has scored 34 goals and 18 assists in 131 career games for Atletico. FC Barcelona has recently announced the signing of Oriol Romeu from Girona FC.
