‘Isse run ban jayenge kya?’ – Fans react as KL Rahul visits Mahakaleshwar Temple with wife Athiya Shetty ahead of 3rd BGT Test

The third Test of the 4-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Series between India and Australia was scheduled to be played in the picturesque venue of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. However, due to ongoing renovation work, the venue had to be shifted to Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The Dharamshala Stadium is expected to be ready before the Indian T20 League.

Taking advantage of the location, India batter KL Rahul visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh along with his wife Athiya Shetty. The couple got married recently in January. Previously, KL Rahul also had one of his in-route visits when he visited the SG Factory in Meerut after the Delhi Test.

KL Rahul has struggled in the red-ball game

Notably, KL Rahul’s form in the red-ball game has been miserable. He scored 20, 17, and 1 in the three times he batted in the ongoing series against Australia. The batter has been unable to get past the 30-run mark in his last 10 Test innings. There is a lot of talk in the cricket community regarding his place in India’s Playing XI for the upcoming Tests against Australia. He has not been able to contribute to the team and when brilliant replacements like Shubman Gill are on the bench, KL Rahul’s chances of staying in the team further weaken. Notably, he was released from his vice-captaincy role after Test 2 of the BGT.

India is leading the ongoing BGT series 2-0 after two sive all-round team performances in the Tests played at Nagpur and Delhi. Interestingly, India needs to defeat the Aussies 3-0 or 3-1, if they are to seal a place in the final of the Global Test Championships. The high stakes further work against KL Rahul as India cannot compromise with any aspect of the game in the upcoming Tests.

Reacting to KL Rahul’s post, fans hoped and prayed that the lord helped the star batter regain his lost touch. However, trolls were also quick to react.
