‘Jaisa khela hai poori team ko doubtful hona chahiye’ – Fans react as Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah likely to miss remainder of Asia Cup 2023
Star Pakistan pace bowlers Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah are reportedly to miss the remainder of the Asia Cup 2023. On 10th and 11th September, during the match against India, the hosts have received a huge blow ahead of the final matches of the tournament as their ace bowlers have gotten injured.
Notably, Haris Rauf felt a little discomfort in his right flank after the game’s original day, 10th September which was abandoned due to heavy rains and shifted to the reserve day on Monday 11 September. Considering the upcoming ODI World Cup, 2023, the Pakistan Cricket Board officially released a statement that Haris Rauf will not be able to bowl on the second day of the match.
However, Naseem Shah was perfectly alright on the reserve day, but also experienced some injury due to which he bowled his overs, but could not come to bat which directly led India to win after dismissing 8 Pakistan batsmen by 228 runs.
PCB media on Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah
“This is only a precautionary measure keeping in mind the fitness and well-being of the players ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup next month. Haris and Naseem will continue to remain under the observation of the team’s medical panel. The team management will only request replacement from the ACC technical committee if Naseem or Haris are ruled out for the next seven days”, said the PCB Media.
“Weather was not in our hands but we tried our best. We were not up to the mark with our batting and bowling. They (Indian openers) had plans for our bowlers and started well and that was followed up by Virat and Rahul. Jasprit and Siraj bowled well in the first 10 overs and swung the ball both ways, but our batting was not up to the mark”, said Babar Azam after the team’s loss.
