Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton hits fastest century in T20I cricket
Namibia’s batter Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton has created history by scoring the fastest hundred in a T20 match against Nepal. He scored his century in 33 balls by breaking the record of Nepal’s batter Kushal Malla. Kushal Malla scored his century in 34 balls against Mongolia in the Asian Games in 2023. Kushal Malla saw his record-breaking in front of his eyes.
He scored his century by hitting eight sixes and 11 fours. Namibia won the toss and came to bat first. Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton’s century helped Namibia to reach the score of 206 runs by the end of 20 overs. Namibia got a good start as they scored 36 runs in the first six overs.
Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton came to bat with a score of 62 runs. He and Kruger made a partnership of 135 runs for the fourth wicket. Namibia got off to a terrific start with the bat, with openers Michael van Lingen scoring 20 runs from 19 balls and Malan Kruger remained not out on 59 runs from 48 runs scoring 36 in six overs. Karan KC dismissed Van Lingen, while Rohit Paudel dismissed JP Kotze on 11 runs and Jan Frylinck on 5 runs. In 32 matches Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton has an average of 10.70.

Loftie-Eaton now leads the list of batters with the fastest T20I century, having scored a century against Nepal, while Malla is second with a 34-ball T20I hundred. South Africa’s David Miller, Indian captain Rohit Sharma, and Czech Republic’s Sudesh Wickramasekara have all dropped to joint third on the rankings. All three have made T20I hundreds in 35 balls. Miller scored 101 runs from 36 balls against Bangladesh in Potchefstroom in October 2017 and was unbeaten. Rohit made 118 runs from 43 balls against Sri Lanka in Indore in December 2017, including 12 fours and ten sixes. Wickramasekara scored 104 runs off 36 balls against Turkey in the Continental Cup in Ilfov County in August 2019 and remained not out.
