‘Just thinking not to play him anymore’- Rohit Sharma’s hilarious plan on keeping Suryakumar Yadav’s form intact
Rohit Sharma is a man of many talents; the 35-year-old can bat, field, captain a side to win,s and many more. After many years of being in the leadership role, Sharma has turned into a very comfortable person in front of the camera. The Indian skipper often speaks in his mind out and never minces his words creating some of the funniest moments in the interviews.
One such funny incident took place in the post-match interview after India- South Africa’s second T20I match. When Harsha Bhogle asked the Indian captain, “How do you keep Surya’s form together? The form he is in …just protect it. How do you hold it together?”
Rohit Sharma came up with a funny reply as a slight smile crept up his face. He said, “Just thinking not to play him anymore. Just play him on the 23rd. But no (seriously), the kind of form he is in… he is somebody who wants to play the game, who wants to keep going out there and keep doing well. That is what keeps him happy and we want to keep him happy.”
Miller batted beautifully and I loved it: Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakkumar Yadav looked content with the 16 runs win over South Africa and summarised the match by saying, “We were batting first, so it was very clear that I had to keep the tempo that was set by Rahul and Rohit and I just went and enjoyed myself. He (Miller) batted beautifully and I loved it. You just have to be planning really well when you are having the practice sessions (about second-guessing the bowlers). When you are batting first, you can’t set a target and you just got to bat as deep as possible and get as many runs as possible.”
India won has won the three-match 20-20 series with a 2-0 win over the visitors. They now look to the third match in Indore on October 3rd and whitewash the Proteas. A three-match ODI series between the two teams will follow after the T20I series ends.
