India are toiling hard ahead of Australia Tests and the Rohit Sharma-led team would look to make a cut to the summit clash of the Test championship by clinching the series. That being said, the Baggy Greens are giving it their all in the nets to try and tackle the spin in the series, given the series will mark the return of series like Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. 

Amid reports of injury concerning KL Rahul, the batter opened up on the competition with Shubman Gill and said that he would like to bat lower down the order at Number 5 if the team requires it. For the unversed, with Gill in sublime form, it remains to be seen if the Indian think tank would opt for Rahul to open the innings instead. 

“I’m open to bat in the middle order if the team wants that,” Rahul was quoted as saying ahead of the first Test to be played at Nagpur. There are also reports about the Indian cricket board preparing rank turners for the first Test and the Australians are sweating it hard to tackle the Nagpur pitch which might come as a headache. 

Can Australia win series this time around against strongly-motivated India?

With Rahul making a return for the series after his wedding to Athiya Shetty, it remains to be seen if the right-handed batter could be at his full fitness. Amid reports of his injury, the Indian cricket team would be hoping for the return of superstar Virat Kohli and the captain Rohit Sharma who has been struggling in the longest format of the game of late, although they are continuing their supremacy in white-ball cricket. 

With Jadeja making a return for the Border-Gavaskar trophy and the Baggy Greens focussing on the spin attack, the Indian team would hope for the best from the allrounder, given that he is making a comeback after his stupendous outing for Saurashtra against Tamil Nadu in the Ranji trophy.
