A lot of cricketers from Zimbabwe and international cricket have expressed their thoughts on X (formerly Twitter) after the news of Streak’s demise emerged.

However, Olanga’s second tweet confused a lot of people. “I can confirm that rumors of the demise of Heath Streak have been greatly exaggerated. I just heard from him. The third umpire has called him back. He is very much alive folks,” Olonga’s new tweet read. Streak was considered one of the greatest players of his time. He played a total of 65 Tests and 189 ODIs for his country where he scored 4933 runs and took 455 wickets

The 49-year-old’s family earlier confirmed he is fighting with cancer. “Heath has cancer and is undergoing treatment under one of the most respected oncologists in South Africa. He remains in good spirits and will continue to fight this disease in a similar vein to that which his opponents faced during his revered days on the cricket field,” his family was quoted as saying in a statement.
