 ‘Kitna bhi change kar lo kuch nahi hoga’ – Fans react to reports of RCB parting ways with coaches Mike Hesson, Sanjay Bangar

One of the most famous Indian Premier League (IPL) teams, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have recently been in the news as they have opted to change their coaching after the team failed to qualify for the playoffs in the recently concluded season of the IPL.

After electing not to renew their contract with Director of Cricket Mike Hesson and coach Sanjay Bangar for the upcoming Indian Premier League season, RCB are searching for new backroom personnel.

The franchise, which has not yet claimed an IPL trophy, is reportedly looking for new coaches, but it is unclear whether they would keep their present bowling coach, Adam Griffith. In addition to it, Hesson and Bangar, who have both held their posts for five years, are thought to get along well with RCB legend Virat Kohli.

As they pursue their first IPL championship, the franchise is now eager to have someone who can introduce fresh perspectives. The team’s enormous army of supporters and followers became discouraged when they failed to even get to the playoffs in the 2023 season. It’s unclear whether RCB would select an Indian or a foreign head coach to run the team.

The formation of other clubs’ coaching setups has already begun. Andy Flower has been replaced as head coach of the Lucknow Super Giants by former Australia opener and coach Justin Langer. Flower, a former Zimbabwe captain, is already in talks with other franchises and could stay in the IPL at the helm of another team.

This is how Twitter reacted to this news about the change in mentorship for the RCB franchise;

Despite having some big names in the past the RCB team have failed to win the title till now. In the 2016 edition of the IPL, where Kohli was in his prime the team were outplayed in the finals by Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad on their home ground at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. According to many fans as well as cricket experts, this was the golden period for the RCB side with the likes of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shane Watson, AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal, etc. in their ranks.
