India is busy playing the T20I series against West Indies. After winning three ODIs, India managed to win the first T20I also. But, India made some surprising decisions during that match which did not go well for the former India cricketer, Kris Srikanth. He also criticized India head coach Rahul Dravid for not picking up in-form Deepak Hooda over Shreyas Iyer.

However, now he came up with an interesting suggestion for India’s chief selector Chetan Sharma regarding the possible final squad of India at the T20 World Cup. Notable, former India coach, Ravi Shastri was also present on that platform during that discussion.

“Hey Chetan, select the correct team this time. If you need any advice, call me, call Ravi.” – Kris Srikkanth

Speaking on air during Fan Code’s broadcast for the 1st T20I, Kris Srikkanth said that the Indian selector needs to pick a correct team ahead of the mega event. Even, he and Ravi Shastri can help him regarding that if he needs any help. However, on 30 July 2022, India announced the squad for the upcoming ODIs against Zimbabwe. Star players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul have been rested once again as Shikhar Dhawan will lead the troops for the tour.

Srikkanth said: “If they pick the right combination then Chetan Sharma, who has played a lot of cricket with us,…ee Chetu (Chetan) aab correct team select Karna. Advice chaiye toh mere ko phone kardo, Ravi (Shastri) ko call kardo, humdono aacha guidance denge aapko” (Hey Chetam, select the correct team this time. If you need any advice, call me, call Ravi. Both of us can give you good guidance)

Former India player also added that until now, what they have been doing is fine. But, from the Asia Cup, selectors need to go for a settled squad. “This trial and error methodology that they are doing is absolutely fine, what the selectors are doing is fine. But from the Asia Cup, they have to do it,” he concluded.
