‘Laut aao Mr. ITL’ – Fans enjoy Suresh Raina’s unbeaten 90 runs in Legends Cricket Trophy
After defeating the Nagpur Ninjas by 11 runs in Match No. 2 of the Legends Cricket Trophy on March 22 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Ghaziabad, the Indore Knights, led by Suresh Raina, rose to second place in the standings. On the other hand, after defeating the Guwahati Avengers by seven wickets in the day’s opening game, the Chandigarh Champions continue to hold the top spot in the standings.
The Knights amassed a mammoth score of 209 after being allowed to bat first, losing only six wickets in the process. The show’s highlight was Suresh Raina, who scored 90 runs off 45 balls while remaining unbeaten thanks to 10 fours and 4 sixes. After Dilshan Munaweera, the opening batter, was dismissed by Kuldeep Hooda after scoring 16, Raina took over.
Legends Cricket Trophy 2023 will take place from March 22 to March 30
For the second wicket, Raina and Phil Mustard combined for 114 runs off 10.2 overs. Before Hooda got rid of Mustard, he had reached his half-century. But Raina made sure to play all the way through. Jitendra Giri delivered a few lusty smashes to help the Knights surpass the 200-run threshold. Hooda, who finished with figures of 4-0-38-4, was the Ninjas’ best bowler.
Hooda attempted to make a solo effort in the run-chase after performing with the ball. He scored 77 runs off just 42 balls, including seven fours and five sixes, but his heroic efforts were unsuccessful.
Before Rajesh Dhabi sent Satnam Singh packing, he sped to 32 off 16 with four fours and two sixes. Prince was forced to be removed from the game after making 25 runs off just 19 balls. Hooda had an opportunity to lead his team across the finish line with 14 runs needed off of just three balls, but Dhabi removed him to end the game.
Big names like Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Nick Compton, Robin Uthappa, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Suresh Raina, Sanath Jayasuriya, Tillakaratne Dilshan, and Richard Levi will compete in the Legends Cricket Trophy 2023, which will take place from March 22 to March 30.
