‘Laut aao Rishabh Pant’ – Nathan Lyon rips through India batters for Australia on Day 2 of Delhi Test

Star off-spinner Nathan Lyon has been the wrecker-in-chief for Australia Day 2 of the second Test against India in the ongoing four-match series. The 35-year-old destroyed the Indian top order in the first session of the day, picking up four wickets and reducing India to 88 for 4 before lunch.
Starting the day with 21/0, India first lost the wicket of KL Rahul, who got bowled LBW by Lyon in the 18th over. After that skipper, Rohit Sharma failed to judge in the 20th over and got bowled after scoring 32 runs. Two balls later, Cheteshwar Pujara also went back to the pavilion without scoring a run in his 100th Test match, after the Australian spinner bowled him leg-before.
After a few overs, Shreyas Iyer also got tricked by Lyon and gave a catch to Peter Handscomb who was standing at short leg in the 26th over. Lyon shattered the Indian batting line-up in the first session.
India lose the big wicket of Virat Kohli to debutant Matthew Kuhnemann
Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja were able to save India from any other blow by adding 59 runs for the fifth wicket before Jadeja got dismissed by Todd Murphy in the 47th over. Jadeja got LBW out after scoring 26 off 74 balls. A couple overs later, the hosts suffered a big blow as Kohli was dismissed by the debutant Matthew Kuhnemann after scoring 44 runs from 84 balls.
In the next over, Lyon strikes again as he dismissed KS Bharat in the 51st over to complete his five-wicket haul. The Australian spinner has been phenomenal with the ball as the hosts have lost 7 wickets so far. They are still trailing by more than 100 runs from Australia’s total of 263 runs.
