Leading cricketers send prayers and wishes to Chennai residents amidst heavy downpour
Chennai is facing a grim situation as far as the weather is concerned. The entire city is waterlogged after rains have wreaked havoc in the last few days. This has thrown life out of gear for the residents of the city and state of Tamil Nadu on the whole.
Local lads Dinesh Karthik and Ravichandran Ashwin were one of the earliest to tweet their anguish over the situation. Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana also tweeted his support and prayers with a moving message.

Veteran cricket star Dinesh Karthik wrote “Chennai folks please prioritize your safety and stay indoors. It’s crucial during times like this. A big salute to all the officials working tirelessly to improve the situation. Let’s all cooperate and get through this together”

Ravichandran Ashwin posted a rather seriously worded tweet which read “Looks grim! With all the hours of predicted rain”. The 37-year-old is set to fly with the Indian team to South Africa in a few weeks for the 2-match test series.
