Legendary manager Jose Mourinho fired by AS Roma
Former Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been sacked yet again. This time by AS Roma after the Italian club has seen their run of form dip in recent weeks.
AS Roma had lost 3-1 to AC Milan over the weekend to condemn them to their 7th loss for the season. The club are yet to announce the successor but the firing of Mourinho has come as a huge jolt.
Jose Mourinho will turn 61 in a few days and the latest sacking has raised questions about his future. There is a chance he could go to Chelsea once again or head to Paris Saint Germain. The French club are yet to win the Champions League title and Mourinho could help them achieve it.
AS Roma end their association with Jose Mourinho
Football world and AS Roma fans were shocked when it was announced that Jose Mourinho was sacked. The 60-year-old manager was at the helm when his team were blanked 3-1 by AC Milan.
The Club put out a statement which read “AS Roma can confirm that Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff will leave the club with immediate effect. Further updates on the new first-team coaching staff will follow imminently”
It is believed that former club legend Danielle De Rossi will be the new manager. Jose Mourinho came to AS Roma after being fired by Tottenham Hotspurs. The Portuguese manager helped his side to win the first-ever UEFA Conference League.
In 138 games that Mourinho managed the club, AS Roma won 68, lost 39, and drew 31 games. With a win percentage of 49.28, this is the worst ever for Jose Mourinho in over two decades of management. The former Manchester United manager hasn’t spoken anything about his future as yet.
His time in Italy has also been marred by controversies and off-the-field issues. It is also learned that Mourinho’s contract with AS Roma was set to end in June. AS Roma was the ninth club for Jose Mourinho during his career.

We will always have great memories of his tenure at Roma, but we believe that an immediate change is in the best interests of the club”
