The second edition and the SA20 is going strong with enthralling matches and an electrifying atmosphere in the stadiums making the league a fun yet competitive sporting spectacle. The best thing about the league till now has been its amazing domestic talent.

You need to have big players in your league to make it attractive to the worldwide audience but to sustain it for a long time you need to have some great domestic talent on display the SA20 surely has some of those and if you pair them with some world-class grounds and electrifying atmosphere in the ground in sums up the recipe for a successful T20 league.

Marcus Stoinis joins DSG for the remainder of SA20

Adding to the list of world-class players, Marcus Stoinis has joined the SA20 which will add more Aussie flavor to the league. He has been roped in by the Durban Super Giants and will replace West Indian batsman Nicholas Pooran in the Super Giants’ squad.

Pooran will leave for the International League T20 in the United Arab Emirates to play for MI Emirates. This move will further bolster the DSG squad which is already sitting at the 2nd position in the points table after winning their first three matches of the tournament.

Hailing from Perth, 34-year-old Marcus Stoinis is a seasoned cricketer with 127 international matches across formats for Australia, a testament to his versatility. He’s also got a whopping 250 T20 matches under his belt, making him a T20 veteran. Currently, Stoinis also plays for the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League which is owned by the same group who owns DSG.

Naveen-ul-Haq also bolsters the DSG squad

In addition to that, Afghanistan’s premier pacer Naveen-ul-Haq is also set to join the DSG squad in place of pacer Richard Gleeson. Naveen-ul-Haq was part of Afghanistan’s squad in the recently concluded T20I series in India and will join the DSG squad before their next game.

Earlier he was not given the NOC by the Afghanistan Cricket Board preferring leagues over international duties but later the Board relaxed their policies after he made himself available for international commitments.
