According to the reports, England pacer Mark Wood is likely to miss the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League. If this happens, Wood will be the third Englishman to miss the 15th season. Alex Hales and Jason Roy have already decided to pull out of the season due to bio-bubble fatigue. Roy pulled out last month after the Pakistan Super League (PSL), while Hales pulled out this week.

Meanwhile, Wood was signed by a new team, Lucknow, for 7.5 crores after battling with teams such as Delhi and Mumbai. The right-arm pacer has the ability to disconcert the batters even on the dead wickets with extra pace. However, it is likely that he might miss the entire season this year. He is currently in the Caribbean for the three-match Test series. The 2019 World Cup winner played the recently concluded first Test.

He picked up an injury during the game and was deemed unfit to bowl. Wood’s injury is similar to Jofra Archer, which has kept the latter out of the game for more than a year. Notably, Archer has been signed by Mumbai, although he is unlikely to play during the 2022 league. As per a report in Sports Tiger, the pacer will be fit to bowl in 15 days. However, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is unlikely to allow the 32-year-old to play.

Lucknow fans certainly will be hoping that Wood is available to play for them and he brings an X-factor to the team. They kick off their campaign against Gujarat on March 28.
