India thrashed Pakistan in the ODI World Cup 2023 match in Ahmedabad. In the biggest cricket event, India defeated Pakistan handsomely by 7 wickets with a whopping 117 balls to spare. A collective team effort meant that India edged past Pakistan in the match. Pakistan never looked to be in the game, as India was always in the dominating position in the match.

India won the toss and elected to bowl first in Ahmedabad. The decision of Rohit Sharma proved to be right, as India bowled extremely well and restricted them to a total of just 191 runs. Barring Imam, Babar, and Rizwan, no batter stepped up for Pakistan. The collapse of Pakistan led to a huge defeat for the visiting side. There was no way Pakistan was going to recover from the collapse.

The Indian bowlers penetrated well and got rid of Pakistan batters in the middle overs phase. Every Indian bowler that bowled more than 5 overs picked a couple of wickets. Barring Shardul who bowled only 2 overs, all the other Indian bowlers claimed 2 wickets each. Chasing the target, India hardly faced any troubles. Rohit gave a brisk start to the Indian team and carried it forward.

The Indian captain scored 86 runs in 63 balls, which included 6 fours and sixes each. Shreyas Iyer scored a fifty and helped India by his finishing. Virat played a little cameo and helped India’s cause. But it was the post-match moment of Virat with Babar that caught the attention of the fans. Virat gifted a signed jersey to Babar after the match. The images of the moment are now going viral on social media.

Virat and Babar share a special bond. The two batters admire and respect each other. In the past, the two batters have expressed their opinions about each other. The two have stood for each other. In the match against India, Babar registered his first ODI fifty against India. Unfortunately, a lack of support from the other end meant that the match was rather one-sided.
