Two-time World Cup winner for India, Yuvraj Singh isn’t happy with Shreyas Iyer throwing away his opportunity against Australia. In the ongoing ODI World Cup game, the five-time winners won the toss and elected to bat first. They had a poor start as they lost the wicket of Mitchell Marsh early. After this, the likes of David Warner and Steve Smith played well although none of them scored a fifty.

After their wickets, the team collapsed. From 100/2, the team was bowled out for a mere 199 runs in 49.3 overs. At one stage, the team was reduced to 140/7. With the bowlers such as skipper Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Adam Zampa scoring some useful runs for the team. However, despite this, India chasing 200 runs was one of the easiest of targets on a wicket that assisted spin bowling.

After all, the visitors were 50-60 runs short on this wicket. Meanwhile, in reply, the home team had a horror start as they lost three wickets for two runs. While Ishan Kishan tried to play an expansive drive in the first over and was caught at slips, Iyer was caught at covers. Only the wicket of Rohit Sharma, who got out lbw against Josh Hazlewood, looked like a bowler taking a wicket.

Kishan and Iyer’s wickets looked like rather coming due to poor shot selection. After he latter’s wicket, Singh has criticised Iyer and wondered why KL Rahul isn’t batting at number four.

India looking in a strong position to win the game

At the time of writing, India has reached 119/3, needing 81 runs to win in 21 overs. The likes of former skipper Virat Kohli and former vice-captain KL Rahul have scored a fifty each.
