Australia pacer Mitchell Starc has hinted that he is interested in playing the upcoming 15th season of the Indian T20 League. Starc has prioritised international cricket over the years and has stayed away from money rich franchise T20 Leagues. He last played the Indian T20 League in 2015. However, he is planning a return to the league. Starc said it’s been a while he has played the T20 extravaganza and has given a thought on putting his name in the upcoming mega auction.

“I’ve got two days to get my paperwork in, so that might be something to do today before training. I’ve not put my name down just yet, but I’ve got a couple more days to decide on that. It’s certainly on the table regardless of what the schedule has got coming up,” said Mitchell Starc as quoted by Sports Tiger.

“I haven’t been for six years or so. Obviously, with a heavy weighting towards T20s over the last period of time and the World Cup coming up later this year, that’s one to take into consideration as well. There’s a bit going on with scheduling and what-not to get our heads around, certainly for us multi-format players,” he added.

Meanwhile as per reports, Starc’s previous franchise Bangalore is interested in roping in the Australia stalwart. Starc played 26 games for Bangalore during his previous stint, picking 34 wickets at an average of 20.38. The auction is likely to take place in the second week of February in Bangalore. COVID-19, however, could force a delay to the auctions.
