Moeen Ali’s account creates chaos on social media
A fake account of the English cricketer Moeen Ali created a lot of unrest as a post went viral on all the social media platforms. According to the post, the cricketer had demanded an apology from India over former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Nupur Sharma’s controversial statements against Prophet Muhammad.
The post also claimed that Moeen will never participate in the Indian T20 League and will not visit India for playing any matches. However, after investigation, it has been found that this account was not an official one. After all of these, Twitter took the required action and suspended this account for now.
The Post went viral on Twitter
A fake Twitter account was created under the name of Moeen Ali and the, such a misleading post was shared. The tweet expressed: “If India does not apologize for its blasphemous statement, I will never go to India to play a match again, I will also boycott the Indian T20 League. And I will appeal to my fellow Muslim brothers to do the same 🙏 I Love Muhammad P.B.U.H”

During the investigation regarding this incident, it was found that this account was already suspended while this post was being written. The account was created in May 2022 and had over 8000 followers on Twitter.
All this controversy started when ex-BJP spokespersons Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal passed a controversial comment on the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Eventually, a fake account of English cricketer Ali tweeted about the player boycotting the Indian T20 League over Nupur Sharma’s remarks against the Prophet.
Speaking about his cricketing career, Moeen Ali is currently busy with the Worcestershire Rapids side in the Vitality Blast 2022. He just managed to pick up three wickets along with only 44 runs in four matches so far. However, he had a decent Indian T20 League this year for the Chennai franchise as he scored 244 runs with the bat and grabbed eight wickets in 10 matches.
