2. Substitute fielders will be allowed for a maximum of three overs: The introduction of this rule might be a controversial one. In the current setup of the game, teams often exploit the rule to introduce a substituted fielder for a player who is not at his 100 percent. Bowlers are often seen taking a rest after bowling an over and their place is taken by a better fielder who is not a part of the playing eleven.

The Indian T20 League already allows two strategic time-outs during a match. These should be enough for the players to catch a breather. So, a rule might be introduced where a substitute fielder should only be allowed on the field for a maximum of three overs.
