 BCCI to implement new rules to make Indian T20 League more exciting

3. Batting teams should be allowed extra runs in case of slow over-rate: There is a particular allocated time for the bowling teams to complete their quota of 20 overs. At present, if the allocated time is crossed by the team, the players are fined a part of their match fee. Repeated offences might also lead to the captain of the team being suspended for a few matches.

A new rule might be introduced where extra runs could be awarded to the batting team if a bowling team fails to maintain the proper over-rate. This will prompt the bowling teams to try and finish their overs within time and this will also increase the pace of the match.
