Neymar scores his first goal of Asian Champions League for Al-Hilal
The former Barcelona superstar and Brazilian football sensation, Neymar Jr. Recently scored his first goal for Al-Hilal in the Asian Champions League after failure in the initial few matches of the tournament. The 42nd edition of Asia’s premier club football championship, the Asian Champions League is being conducted from 18 September 2023 to 18 May 2024.
Neymar Jr. Joined the Al-Hilal football club of Saudi Arabia and moved to Riyadh after exiting from the renowned football club Paris Saint-Germain (popularly known as PSG) in August. Neymar scored his first goal after playing four matches for the prestigious Saudi Arabian football club as Al-Hilal beat the Irani and team Nassaji Mazandaran by 3-0.
The other Saudi Arabian football team Al-Ittihad moved out of a run without facing Sepahan 24 hours prior to Al-Hilal’s match against the Iranians at the Azadi Stadium, which is also the home stadium of the Iran football team.
Neymar scores just two minutes before the hour
Previously, Neymar missed a penalty shootout for the team’s match against Al-Shabab in the Saudi Pro League on 29 September and was a target of a lot of cans and bottles as the Al-Hilal team lost the match in Tehran. Neymar then further posted a picture on the social media accounts of the poor condition of the stadium and the fans who targeted the Brazilian footballer were later targeted by the players’ fans in the comment section.
Neymar silenced his critics by scoring a goal in the last two minutes of the hour as he hit the ball towards the goal from the edge of the area. Saleh Al-Shehri then added the third goal for the team to lead the Saudi Arabian football club towards victory.
The win against Iran has led Al-Hilal to the top of the points table of Group D With four points. However, since the tournament began less than a month ago and will continue till almost half of December before the knockout stages, other teams have a good chance to back up and get to the top.
