‘No wonder he is a failure’ – Fans Take A Surprise Dig On Sanju Samson For Calling MS Dhoni His Favourite Sporting Personality

Sanju Samson is currently busy with his Indian teammates in Zimbabwe. India has visited there for playing a three-match ODI series. However, the Indian selectors gave a rest to senior players for the series ahead of the Asia Cup. Hence, they appointed Shikhar Dhawan to lead the series. Also, Deepak Chahar is making a comeback to the team after a long injury setback.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul became fully fit and the Board approved his joining the squad as a captain. India dealt with another blow as Washinton Sundar also got ruled out of the tour due to his shoulder injury. The Indian Board named Shabaz Ahmed as his replacement for these three ODI matches. As the main players are going to miss this series, Samson will hope for more chances in playing XI for all the matches.

However, Ishan Kishan is also in the squad for the series as another wicket-keeper option. But, Samson may get more preference as he performed decently in recent matches in Ireland and West Indies. Sanju also smashed his maiden fifty in the T20Is against Ireland. Now, on 17 August 2022, the Indian Cricket Board shared a video where Samson was asked some rapid-fire questions. He was asked about his favourite sporting personality, his nickname, his favourite food, and all. 

In reply, Samson said that MS Dhoni is his favourite sporting personality. But, that did not go well with some fans. They shared that video and came up with some exceptional comments for Sanju. As of now, former and current players have always compared him with the current Indian captain, Rohit Sharma. Even, Rohit also backed him from his younger days. Still, fans were in shock when they heard MS Dhoni’s name on his lips instead of Rohit Sharma’s.
